The Manbij Military Council’s media center published on its official page that the Manbij Military Council held an emergency meeting today for all the military leaders and institutions affiliated with it regarding the status quo in the city of Manbij.

“The meeting touched upon the political situation in general in north and east Syria, and the city of Manbij in particular, especially in this sensitive stage that we are going through, with regard to the tense situation inside the city, in recent days. Despite the response of the Civil Administration to the rightful popular demands, however, there are parties trying to drag the region into strife and disrupt the element of security and stability within the city, opening a large gap between the people and its administration. One of the most important findings of the council through discussions is that great danger lies in the Syrian regime and Turkey’s exploitation of these conditions by mobilization on the borders, whether the areas under the control of the regime or the Turkish occupation, the latest of which is the crowds of the Syrian regime loyalists on the borders from the village of Jub Makhzoum to Tal Aswad, and a large crowd at the Al-Tayha crossing and Abu Kahf south of Manbij.”

And added that: “On this basis, the meeting reached an important conclusion, which is to warn all leaders and fighters not to be drawn into this strife and not to allow it, and to exercise caution, and that the responsibility for maintaining the security and stability of Manbij is a collective responsibility.”

At the end of the meeting, the Military Council offered condolences to all the families of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
